Republican candidates for office 2022

Five Delta County Republican incumbents announced their intention to run for office in 2022. The announcement came during the GOP meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 11 held in Austin.

The first election for the candidates will be the Primary Election on June 28, 2022 followed by the General Election on Nov. 8, 2022.

Candidates include Lance Boren for County Coroner; Lisa Tafoya for County Treasurer; Mike Lane for County Commissioner District 1; Teri Stephenson for County Clerk and Recorder and Mark Taylor for Delta County Sheriff.

Boren was appointed in December 2016 and elected in 2018. Tafoya was appointed in September 2013 and elected in 2014. She will be seeking a third term.

Lane will be seeking his second term. If re-elected, he will be term limited. Stephenson will be seeking her third term and Taylor will be seeking his second term.

Jolene George announced her candidacy for Delta County Assessor at the October Republican Central Committee Meeting. George, seeking her first term, hopes to replace Delta County Assessor Debbie Griffith who announced her retirement.
