OC Water Filter

Inside the new filter's housing, the filter has a process to prepare water to be consumable, or potable. The third filter adds redundancy to the first two, ensuring a more stable peak water season in case one filter is to malfunction.

As reported in March in the DCI article “Orchard City’s upgraded water treatment plant creates more stable water usage with redundancy,” Orchard City’s hefty water treatment plant upgrade project has been complete. A third filter is now running alongside the two previously existing ones, adding much needed redundancy to the system.

According to Orchard City Trustee Dick Kirkpatrick, who has a career background in the water industry, the third filter makes the system much more reliable in case of a filter malfunction during peak water season. At least two filters need to be running at all times in the middle of summer, which also limits any needed maintenance to winter months.
