Staff Report

This year’s Thanksgiving dinner in Hotchkiss will be a bit different according to event organizer Larry Jakubiak. The changes are due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Jakubiak said this year’s event will be “take out” only with no indoor seating. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can be picked up at the Hotchkiss Senior Center. The entire North Fork community is invited to partake in the homestyle meal.

Jakubiak said masks and social distancing are required and he requests only one or two family members pick up the food to minimize crowd size.

Volunteers for the day’s event are needed and should show up by 10:30 a.m. Monetary donations can be sent to: Town of Hotchkiss, PO Box 369, Hotchkiss, CO 81419 or at the door Thanksgiving Day.

“Anyone wishing to donate salads or desserts please bring them to the Hotchkiss Senior Center by 11 a.m. or Town Hall Wednesday morning,” Jakubiak said.
