Oct. 6

Officers responded to 220 Main St., Hoolie’s, on a report of criminal mischief.

An officer responded to Walmart on a report of suspicious activity and found property. The found property was taken for destruction.

Oct. 7

An officer found an item on the ground near Fort Uncompahgre. Upon notifying the owner of the item being found the owner requested the property be destroyed.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle in the area of East Sixth and Howard streets for not having a license plate light. The driver of the vehicle, a Caucasian male known to the officer, ran on foot from the scene. K9 Raico was utilized to attempt to track the male. Two adult female passengers were identified on scene and released. Criminal charges are pending.

Oct. 8

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 92 because the trunk lid of the vehicle was open. A 17-year-old female of Delta was arrested and transported to Grand Mesa Youth Detentions for alleged possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The adult male driver of the vehicle was released on a verbal warning and the other adult male passenger was identified.

Oct. 9

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle with no license plate displayed in the area of Highway 50 at Ute Street. Russell Alan Lopez Martin, 26, of Eckert ,was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of a controlled substance, criminal impersonation, violation of a protection order, driving a motor vehicle while license suspended, failed to provide evidence of insurance and failed to display registration. He had three total warrants and his bond is set at $3,750.

Delta County Sheriff Department

Oct. 8

Nikole Kissner was arrested for failure to appear at the Delta County Jail. Bond is set at $500.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a lobby report regarding theft of US Postal Mail from the 1000 block of Highway 348, near the town of Delta. The reporting party advised a box of apiary supplies and an envelope containing a check were stolen from their mailbox at that location by unknown persons on the date of Oct. 4, 2019.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office assisted in traffic control in the 31000 block of Highway 92, Delta County Colorado after a two car accident occurred. One juvenile female was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital with a right ankle injury. State Patrol arrived on scene and took over the investigation.

Oct. 9

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an instance of issuance of bad checks at multiple business locations in the town of Crawford, in the County of Delta, and State of Colorado. The deputy was advised a male party had utilized goods and services around town and then paid for them with checks associated to a bank account that had been closed since 2014. A court summons was issued to the male party. The suspect was Steven Englert, who was served summons for two counts of theft and three counts of issuing a bad check.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a report of possible criminal mischief on the 700 block NE Indian Camp Ave., near the town of Cedaredge. The reporting party advised someone had come onto his property while he was out of town, and had cut several vital wires on his $9,000 Arc welder, rendering it inoperable.

Oct. 12

Deputies responded to the area of Highway 50 mile post 65 for a report of a disturbance in a vehicle. As a result of the investigation Gerald McNeil was arrested for robbery, obstruction of telephone services and reckless endangerment. McNeil is being held at the Delta County Jail on a $5,000 bond and as a result of this case a no bond parole hold.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8000 block of Pig Mesa Road for an auto theft report.

Oct. 14

Deputies with the Delta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 20000 block of Kettle Road in Austin for a reported criminal mischief that stemmed from an earlier incident involving a disturbance and civil dispute.
