Sept. 8:

Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Meeker Street on a report of animal cruelty. A dog was seriously injured by what appeared to be a bullet wound.

Sept. 9:

Code Enforcement responded to Lincoln Elementary School on a report of a dog running around the area. The dog was picked up and taken to TAILS for boarding. Jeremiah Dwayne Griffith, 38, of Delta, was issued a ticket for running at large prohibited.

Code Enforcement responded to Lincoln Elementary School on a report of two dogs running loose at the school. The two small dogs were picked up and taken to TAILS for boarding. One dog bit the officer and has been placed on 10 day rabies observation quarantine. The owner claimed the dogs and received a verbal warning for running at large prohibited x2 dogs and city animal license required x2 dogs.

Tylor Michael Naranjo, 27, of Delta, was issued a ticket for indecent exposure.

Benjamin Jeffery Vining, 36, of Denver, was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.

Sept. 10:

Elvisa Perez, 38, of Delta, was arrested and jailed for violation of a protection order and violation of bail bond conditions as acts of domestic violence.

Sept. 11:

Jacklyn Amanda Stahlke Stamper, 35, of Delta, was arrested and jailed for violation of a restraining order.

Armando Aparicio, 31, of Eckert, was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Sept. 13:

Jeena Marie Hebert, 36, of Delta, was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $3,000 bond.

Lindsay Ann Moody, 28, of Hotchkiss, was arrested and jailed on a warrant with an $800 bond.

Nathan R. Thompson, 24, of Delta, was arrested and jailed for second degree assault, third degree assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of government operations and child abuse.

From the Delta County Sheriff’s Office (edited, partial list):

Sept. 9:

Kim Cole was arrested for failure to appear (FTA) and jailed on a $400 bond.

Deputies responded to the Delta County Memorial Hospital for a dog bite incident. The incident took place on Devils Thumb Road in Delta. After investigation, the dog wasn’t located and the victim received medical care.

Sept. 10:

Deputies responded to the 3100 Road just east of Leroux Creek for a report of a lightning strike fire. Any signs of fire were unable to be located.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was contacted by a citizen at a residence on Highway 65 in reference to a trespassing incident.

Sept. 11:

Deputies responded to an address on 2210 Lane in Austin in reference to dogs at large complaint. The owner of the dogs, John Hanley, was contacted and after the dogs charged the deputies and vehicles, Hanley was issued a summons for seven counts of dogs at large and seven counts of vicious dogs. Deputies have had numerous encounters with Hanley’s dogs acting viciously, with four different case numbers just for 2019.

Robert Dickinson, of Crawford, was arrested and jailed after deputies responded to the area of Highway 92 and E Street for a welfare check. Dickinson was wanted on a warrant out of El Paso County.

The DCSO received a report of a possible driving under the influence (DUI) near the intersection of West Bridge Street and Oak Drive.

Sept. 12:

Kenneth Hamblin was arrested and jailed on a warrant for FTC and jailed on a bond of $750.

Deputies responded to a suspicious incident at an address on Dodge Street in Delta. It was reported that someone had entered the residence and left items inside the home that didn’t belong there. Evidence was collected and processed.

Jessica Forsythe was arrested for violation of a protection order due to intoxication and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The DCSO responded to an address in the Hotchkiss area reference a possible sex assault incident. This incident is still under investigation.

Sept. 13:

Taran Garica, of Montrose, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to comply (FTC) and placed in the Delta County Jail with a bond of $1,200.

Michael Wason, of Cedaredge, was placed into custody on no bond for a domestic violence warrant.

Deputies responded to Highway 92 near the Austin bridge for a single vehicle traffic accident. Deputies assisted with removing the driver from his vehicle that was submerged in water in the canal and with traffic control. Colorado State Patrol took over.

Sept. 14:

An emergent medical call was received from an address on Highway 92. An adult male was found deceased at this location. No foul play is suspected.

Deputies responded to the 8000 block of Highway 65 in Delta for a reported residential burglary. Multiple items were found missing from the home and property.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 92 and 1800 Road for a vehicle speeding 83 miles per hour, or mph, in a posted 65 mph zone. Isaiah Lopez, of Grand Junction, was issued a citation and driving without a license.

Sept. 15:

Deputies responded to Graff Road in an attempt to contact an adult male with an outstanding felony warrant. Jonathan Lopez was arrested on a $1,500 warrant for robbery and theft.

Deputies responded to Ute Road to assist three stranded individuals who had been floating the river and overturned their raft. Contact was made with the individuals and they were given a ride back to their vehicle.
