Special to Delta County Independent

Monument Health has hired Ashley Thurow to serve as executive director. Thurow brings over a decade of experience helping organizations transition to value-based care models.

Most recently, Thurow served as director of payer contracting and value-based care for Children’s Hospital Colorado. In her role she supported the organization with both value-based and traditional fee-for-service contracting and grew its pediatric clinically integrated network (CIN) through the implementation of payer partnerships.

“I am thrilled to join the Monument Health team because I am passionate about reimagining our healthcare system. Through innovation, partnerships, and systemic industry disruption, we can improve the well-being of individuals, communities, and healthcare as a whole,” said Thurow.

Offering value-based care is a fairly new concept in Western Colorado and one that began with the inception of Monument Health in 2016. Monument Health, known as a clinically integrated network or CIN, provides the framework for high-level integration between hospitals, physicians and insurance companies. Monument Health accomplishes this integration by establishing common goals that align all parties around what truly matters: improving the quality, experience, and cost of healthcare for patients. Thurow’s background is steeped in value-based, integrated health care work dating back to 2007. As innovative healthcare models were emerging, she was involved in national implementation efforts. Ashley has consulted over 80 organizations across the country on population health efforts, spanning from Accountable Care Organization (ACO) initiation to maturation of provider-sponsored health plans while working at Evolent Health and Deloitte.

“Ashley’s passion, skillset, and experience are going to be invaluable to Monument Health as we continue to integrate the delivery of healthcare in Western Colorado and contribute to healthier lives. Plus, we’re excited to welcome her family to the West Slope,” adds Dr. Michael Pramenko, MD, who also serves as board chair for Monument Health.

Ashley holds business degrees from the University of Arizona and the George Washington University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She currently serves as Board Chair for Nourish Colorado and as adjunct faculty for the Masters of Health Administration program at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
