The Blue Sage Center for the Arts is now accepting submissions of writings and photographs for the annual Convergence: Words and Images from the West Elks contest.

Formerly titled "Write On!" Convergence is an annual writing and photography contest providing opportunities for all genres and amateur and professional photographers to showcase their work. The contest includes adult and youth divisions and categories include prose (fiction and non-fiction), poetry, and black and white photographs.

All submissions will be judged for consideration in the annual publication, "Convergence: Words and Images from the West Elks." No previously published work will be accepted. Submission fees will help cover Convergence publishing costs.

There are two divisions, adult and a youth (18-and-under). Winning photographs will be displayed at the Blue Sage Gallery during the month of July, 2019, and selected winning writers will have an opportunity to read their works at a literary event at the Blue Sage the evening of June 28, 2019. Winners will receive a complimentary copy of Convergence.

Prose entries are limited to one submission per entrant and should be no more than 3,000 words, submitted in PDF format and double-spaced. Entry fee is $10 for adults and $3 for youth. Up to three poems may be submitted, with a maximum 50 lines. Entry fee is $3 per photo for adults, $1 per photo for youth. The writer's name and title should be on each piece.

Up to three black and white photographs of 300 pixels per inch may be submitted in both adult and youth divisions, each reflecting the essence of life in the West Elk region. Fee is $3 per photo for adults and $1 per photo for youth.
