Former North Fork Ambulance Association members will be receiving a card in the mail in the coming weeks explaining how the two entities, North Fork EMS and the North Fork Ambulance Auxiliary, will work together for the people of the North Fork Valley. Ambulance service has transferred to the newly formed North Fork EMS, while the old North Fork Ambulance Association moves forward with a new name, and a new mission.
The card will also notify North Fork Ambulance members that due to insurance regulations, their membership has ended as of June 30. Prorated refunds are being offered on any membership paid between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. Members can request a refund check or may donate their refund to North Fork Ambulance Auxiliary.
In lieu of membership, a new financial aid program by the auxiliary will help seniors, uninsured and under-insured residents of the North Fork valley defray costs of North Fork EMS ambulance transport should it be necessary.
The North Fork Ambulance Auxiliary's mission is to enhance the quality of life in the North Fork Valley by supporting emergency medical services along with the health and safety needs of our communities. North Fork EMS will continue to bring the best emergency medical care possible to the valley's residents and visitors.
