At its Dec. 9 regular town meeting, the Town of Orchard City Board of Trustees approved the 2021 town budget in the form of Resolution 2020-06, which doesn’t vary from the last budget draft. The town’s budget is described in greater detail in the DCI article “Orchard City lays out proposed 2021 budget.”

The estimated revenues for each fund are as follows:

General fund: $347,093

Road fund: $164,451

Water fund: $872,500

Water capital construction fund: $2,161,667

Water acquisition fund: $800

Park fund: $36,616

Conservative trust fund: $28,100

The estimated expenses for each fund are as follows:

General fund: $291,960

Road fund: $267,809

Water fund: $1,134,422

Water capital construction fund: $2,160,500

Water acquisition fund: $50,000

Park fund: $56,397

Conservative trust fund: $57,900

Some numbers in the budget have changed slightly as more exact costs were determined after the regular Oct. 14 meeting. The budget in its entirety is attached to the online version of this article.

In addition to the budget, the board passed a customary resolution to appropriate sums of money from the 2021 town budget. They are approved as follows:

$291,960 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the general fund for the expenditures of the general fund.

$267,809 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the road fund for the expenditures of the road fund.

$1,134,422 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the water fund for the expenditures of the water fund.

$2,160,500 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the water capital construction fund for the expenditures of the water capital construction fund.

$50,000 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the water acquisition fund for the expenditures of the water acquisition fund.

$57,900 is appropriated from revenues and reserves/fund balances of the conservative trust fund for the expenditures of the conservation trust fund.
