The Town of Paonia is asking area residents to complete an online survey as part of its master plan update process. Available at, the survey covers the master plan’s housing and utilities chapters discussed at the first of a series of public input meetings on Sept. 26. The survey takes about five minutes to complete. Notes on the public meeting and a presentation on the master plan process are also available on the town website.

Town planning coordinator Evan Bolt urges those living in and around the Paonia area to complete the survey. “We want everyone who can to fill out a survey,” said Bolt. Those who don’t have access to the online survey can call the town at 970-527-4101 during business hours or email to receive a paper copy.

A second public input meeting on the master plan update will be held in November, with a time and date to be announced. Discussion topics will include transportation (roads and sidewalks), economic development and sustainability. A related community survey is expected to be available in mid-November. A third meeting will cover art and culture, parks, recreation and trails; and the final meeting will cover land use. Surveys will also be available on those subjects after the meetings are held.
