Pioneer Town Museum’s Christmas Town premiere event may have been more or less shut down by the autumn spike in COVID-19 cases, but a few inevitable celebrations survived. This includes the pairing up with local piano teacher Joy Thompson to bring an open-house-style recital to town.
With a piano and speaker system set up by the Stolte Packing Shed and with piano students’ families in the parking lot area of the museum, the regular indoor Christmas recital with a program and schedule turned into an adaptive holiday celebration despite the unusual circumstances.
The recital happened Dec. 19, and happened in scheduled group time-slots, allowing for limited attendees at any given time, as well as social distancing.
