The Cedaredge Rotary Club hosted its 2019 Summer Scramble Golf Tournament on Aug. 31 and each of the top three teams were decided by a single stroke. The par for the 18-hole scramble format was 72 and the winning scores were 60, 61 and 62.

Fifty-two contestants divided into 13 foursomes teed off on Saturday morning and by early afternoon all rounds had been recorded on the club house tote board. Leading the pack with 12 under par was the foursome of Richard Collins of Orchard City and Cedaredge residents Mike Reynolds, Brandon Kohles and Perry Burgett.

The second place foursome posted an 11 under par and that team was comprised of Cedaredge residents Ryan and Bob Marah and Kent Chavet along with Anthony Marah of Denver.

Placing third with a 10 under par was the all-Cedaredge team of Syndi and Dan Scott plus Stephney and Greg Perkins. Additional tournament recognition was awarded for the longest drive: Patti Michael (women) and Perry Burgett (men). The longest women’s putt was recorded by Mardy Thompson and for the men, it was Jim LeVeck. The closest to the pin honors for women went to Stephney Perkins and for men, it was Greg Hart.

The tournament was held at the Cedaredge Golf Club. The Cedaredge Rotary Club hosts the annual contest and accompanying raffle to raise money to fund Cedaredge High School student scholarships.
