On Nov. 2, the Delta Police Department responded to the 1600 block of H-38 Road in Delta on a report of multiple gunshots being heard in the area, according to a Nov. 20 press release by DPD Public Information Officer Jamie Head. No involved parties are known at this time, but the release states: “We do believe this is an isolated incident and there is no further cause for alarm in the neighborhood or within the community.”
DPD Chief Luke Fedler said he was the initial person to investigate the incident as soon as it had happened, but a department detective later visited the site.
“The residents at one particular address reported two vehicles at that location were damaged by what appeared to be bullets,” the release stated. “Three people were within proximity of one vehicle at the time the vehicle was shot. No persons reported being injured and no injuries were observed.”
Further investigation of the scene revealed that between two and twelve shots had been fired throughout the incident, Fedler said. The case is still open and the incident is still under investigation.
The Delta Police Department asks anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers any time at 970-874-8810. Calls with Crime Stoppers remain completely anonymous. Phone calls are not recorded and caller ID is not used.
