It's been years since Cedaredge held a town celebration on Independence Day and this year planners hope to make up for lost time. The Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the day's events, has announced a line-up for July 4 starting with an 11 a.m. Patriotic Parade along Main Street.

To find out about an application for parade entries contact the Cedaredge chamber at 970-856-6961.

At 11:30 a.m. Grand Mesa Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Grand Mesa Post 9221 will post the colors. And from noon to 3 p.m. town park live music will be performed in the town park. To complement the musicians, food and drinks will be available. Celebrants are also encouraged to bring a picnic or stop by Stacy's on Main which will have sack lunches available for purchase.

The park vendors will include a beer and margarita booth operated by Paonia Brewing Company. The Cedar Mesa Community Club will sell nachos, the Cedaredge Rotary Club will offer ice cream sandwiches, and T's Grill will vend hot dogs and hamburgers.
