Tour de Cedars

A custom-built home with a southwestern flair is one of five Cedaredge dwellings featured in the 2021 Tour de Cedars. The four-hour tour also includes food, art displays and live music.

The third annual Tour de Cedars is set for Sunday, Sept. 26. The lively tour of five beautiful and unique homes runs from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to an open house tour, each home site will feature a singular blend of local food; wine and cider tastings; displays of local artwork; and live music. Pre-registration is a must and tickets are still available at the Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center (GMAEC) at 195 W Main St. in downtown Cedaredge or by visiting the center’s website listed below.

Keeping up with the neighbors has never been more enjoyable or, in this case, affordable. The $85 price tag might seem daunting, but think of it as a full afternoon of autumn entertainment at only $17 a home. And, most importantly, the tour is a vital fund-raiser for the arts Ccenter — one of four major fund-raising events held every year.

The tour and other fund-raisers are essential for the center which relies on the events to meet between 20-25% of its operating expenses. The center is a vital community resource which showcases performance and visual arts, hosts art classes for adults and young people, and provides space for other nonprofits to hold their own fundraisers without paying a use fee. Among organizations staging fund-raising events at the center, are the Delta County Libraries Foundation and the Surface Creek Animal Shelter.

The first Tour de Cedars in 2019 was an unqualified success. Last year, COVID concerns called for a virtual tour. This year the event is back in full swing with a traditional in-person tour.

For more information, visit or call the GMAEC at 195 W Main St. in Cedaredge during regular business hours: Mon.-Sat. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday noon-3 p.m.

Tour de Cedar tickets are available at the GMAEC or at the center’s website: grandmesaartscenter.com.
