Western Colorado Contractors Association (WCCA) recently presented a check to benefit the Technical College of the Rockies (TCR) on Oct. 21. The funds came from money raised from the 2021 WCCA Fall Golf Tournament at The Bridges Golf Course in Montrose held in September.

The members of WCCA nominated and approved the Technical College of the Rockies to receive funds from the event to assist with construction-related programs.

“This was a great way for the construction community to give back to the community and help efforts to develop the future workforce,” said Shawna Grieger, Executive Director of WCCA.

The Technical College of the Rockies is a school consisting of many academic programs including Drafting and Design Technology core programs that are designed to qualify students for entry-level employment into the construction industry.

WCCA events have contributed to several organizations over the years within Western Colorado including Special Olympics, Roaring Fork Family Schools, Partners, and regional 4-H programs.

Funds raised from the WCCA Fall Golf Tournament amounted to a donation check for $1,100 to help TCR with future workforce efforts.
