Edwin Allen Horn of Eckert died July 25, 2019 at home. He was 95.
There will be no services held.
He was born June 20, 1924, to Josephine (Allen) and Fred Horn in Denver. He graduated from North High School in 1942. He attended the Colorado School of Mines at Golden for several years.
Mr. Horn made split-bamboo fishing rods and other fishing gear and was a proprietor of a fishing shop in north Denver.
In 1954 Mr. Horn returned to study at Western State College in Gunnison. He graduated in 1956 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
Mr. Horn taught mathematics in Reliance, Wyo. There he met Evelyn Delgado and they married in June, 1957. They stayed in Reliance until the mines closed, at which time he attended the University of California at San Diego, receiving a degree in mathematics-education.
He returned to teaching in Newcastle, Wyo. He later accepted a teaching position at Las Vegas High School in Nevada. During a leave of absence he earned a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and moved to a teaching position at the Clark County Community College. He was designated as professor emeritus by the college at his retirement in 1989.
At his retirement the Horns moved to the Delta area.
He enjoyed travel, fly fishing, birding and spending time outdoors.
