Cedaredge resident Jeanne Joy Palmer passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019. She was 76 years old.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at the Cedaredge Fire Department.
Jeanne Joy Frey was born on Jan. 10, 1943, to Stanley and Laverne “Floye” (Robbins) Frey in Cedaredge, Colorado.
Jeanne grew up in Cedaredge, graduating from Cedaredge High School in 1961. She was married later that year to the love of her life, Richard Benson Palmer. Together they raised two children.
Jeanne enjoyed spending time outdoors; riding ATVs, fishing, camping and rock-hunting. Most of all Jeanne cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.
She is remembered by her family for her love of helping others. She enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to seniors in the area. Jeanne was also an Eastern Star.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rich Palmer; her son Andrew Palmer (Rhonda); and daughter, Kim Houghton (Jeff); as well as her brother, Ray Frey (Joyce); four granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents.
