Longtime Surface Creek area resident Gerald D. "Jerry" Seale died Sept. 4, 2018, at Community Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 82.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Mr. Seale was born May 12, 1936, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Mae (Daniels) and Jack Seale. He spent his childhood in Wyoming and Colorado. He graduated from East High School.
On Feb. 18, 1962, he married Betty Stalnecker in Las Vegas, Nev.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Ute Trails Car Club, Delta Street Rodders, Black Canyon Car Club of Montrose, Wilson Head American Legion Post #97 in Paonia and NSRA. He was a lifetime member of NRA and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
He enjoyed classic cars, gun shows, fishing and four-wheeling.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Seale of Grand Junction; daughter, Bonnie (Jeff) Curtis of Delta; sister, Geraldine Johnson of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin sons, Bryan in 2007 and Bruce in 2012.
