Longtime Eckert resident Kenneth Lindley passed away surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction on July 28, 2019.
A graveside service will be held for Kenneth on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at the Cedaredge Cemetery followed by a memorial service at the New Hope Church in Cedaredge.
Kenneth Wayne Lindley was born December 22, 1940, to Vera Ola (Tolliver) and Emery Odel Lindley in Macon, Mo.
They moved to Monte Vista, Colo. six months later. The family settled in Manitou Springs, Colo. in 1948. Kenneth graduated from Manitou High School in 1959. He served in the Marine Corp from 1961 until 1966, reaching the rank of sergeant.
He moved to Eckert in 1973 and became a real estate agent and ultimately owned his own business in Eckert as a real estate appraiser.
He married Carol Annetta Thompson in Eckert on August 12, 1977. Together they raised three children, Annette, Mark and Kathy.
Kenneth's hobbies included spending time with his loving family, hunting, fishing, antique cars, and traveling. His outdoor Christmas display was enjoyed by hundreds for 38 years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife; three children; and five grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Chris, Travis and Josh; as well as his beloved Newfie Bear.
