Delta resident, Raymond F. Adams passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at his home in Delta. He was 81 years old.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Raymond Fern Adams was born on Feb. 13, 1938, to Jack and Hazel (Nixon) Adams in Wapato, Washington. He spent his childhood in Wapato until his family moved to Eckert. He then attended Cedaredge High School. After high school Raymond went on to join the Navy.

Raymond was a volunteer firefighter and served on the fire board for Delta County. His family fondly remembers his love of traveling, family, friends, helping people and stock car racing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lura Adams; his two daughters: Donna Stoddard (Mark), and Joy Ellison (Bill); brothers, George and Ron Adams; and sister Lois Jones; as well as four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glen.
