Cedaredge resident Spark Ray Richardson died July 9, 2019, at home. He was 38.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to noon at the Chapel of the Cross in Cedaredge.
Mr. Richardson was born April 23, 1981, to Billy and Jane (Wolverton) Richardson in Staunton, Va. He spent his childhood in central Texas. The family moved to Cedaredge where he graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1999.
After high school, he married Laci Diaz. They had a daughter. This marriage later dissolved in divorce.
Later Mr. Richardson married Nicolette Chavez. They had two children.
He was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and hauled for the World Championship in 1996. He worked in gas drilling. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and spending time with family. He was a man of faith.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Nikki Richardson; son, Andrew of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Eden Richardson of Montrose; son, Dakota, and daughter, Isabella, both of Cedaredge; mother, Jane Wolf of Cedaredge; father, Willie (Sandy) Richardson of Ridgway, sister, Jaylynn (Joshua) Springer, and their son, Jacob all of Olathe; uncles, Kenneth Wolverton of Raeford, N.C., and John Wolverton of Olathe; in-laws, Jeannean and Frank Diaz; Harold and Tereasa Chavez, and Jeff and Debby Springer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
