Voters in Orchard City will elect three trustees in the municipal election to be held Tuesday, April 3. The election will be conducted by mail.
The three seats are currently held by Gary Tollefson, who was appointed to the board of trustees in May 2016 to fill the balance of the term vacated by Ken Volgamore upon his election to mayor; Bob Eckels, who serves as mayor pro tem; and Tom Huerkamp, who was elected to a two-year term in April 2016.
All seats to be filled in April are four-year terms.
Nomination petitions are currently available from the town clerk. They must be returned by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on Election Day, must be a registered elector and must have resided within town limits for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
