In last week's DCI Mr. Maki wrote a sincere letter about the theoretical reasons why we should reject the introduction of wolves, as will be on the ballot this year. He didn't mention the practical reason to reject this measure. Now that hunting season is upon us we are reminded of how important the hunting business is to our Western Slope economy. If wolves get busy around here, you can kiss our deer and elk herds goodbye, and with them all the business they bring. Just ask the people around Yellowstone National Park, and the hunters in Montana how they like their ungulate herds having been decimated.
