The November ballot includes a mill levy for funding for the public libraries in Delta County. To the DCI readers: please vote yes on 7A.

When my son was very young, the libraries gave us safe places to go (getting out of the house is essential for new parents) visit with other adults; and learn games, songs and stories that encouraged literacy in my son. Without the mill levy, each of the libraries in Delta County will close an additional day every week, according to library staff. A no vote will also mean immediate and significant cuts to services and programs for all ages, infants to elders. Aging computers will not be replaced. Eventually, some libraries will have to close. Please vote yes on 7A and help sustain public libraries for our communities. They give families safe gathering spaces in which to explore and come to understand the world.
