Orchard City trustees convened April 10 for a short regular meeting. After discussing the March disbursements and financial statements they held a public hearing and voted on two ordinances: 2019-01 Amending Clerk Duties and 2019-02 Appointment of Town Officers.
The first allows the clerk to co-sign on checks. The second modifies the ordinance allowing the board to appoint and remove officers by voice vote or ballot.
Under new business the trustees reviewed the 2019 Field of Dreams lease agreement and the TDS pole easement on Tank Hill. Nothing changed on the lease agreement, it simply was a renewal regarding the use of youth recreational activities like soccer. Trustees accepted the resolution.
The TDS pole will help extend service to difficult to reach areas. Trustees approved.
Lastly, before reviewing committee and staff reports the trustees appointed a new planning commissioner, Joe Gorrod.
Under committee reports, road committee is looking at fixing some rock concerns on Iris Road near Highway 65. Otherwise, only water committee met this past month.
