The Paonia board of trustees will hold a public hearing on the draft fiscal year 2017 budget at the Nov. 22 board meeting.
The draft budget projects general fund revenues of $605,013 and expenses of $603,190. Of those revenues, approximately $156,281 will cover administrative costs, $273,392 go to public safety, $97,334 will go to streets, and $76,184 will go to parks.
A special budget work session is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Town Hall. Public comment will be taken at the Nov. 22 hearing.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
