The Paonia girls placed fourth with 63.5 points Saturday at the annual Hotchkiss Invitational track and field meet.
In individual events, Mckenna Palmer finished second in the long jump with a jump of 15 feet, 8.5 inches, and placed third in the 100m hurdles (17.40). In the triple jump, Palmer placed fourth with a distance of 30 feet, 8 inches, Lyla Hayutin-Baril placed fifth (30-1.75), and Carly Horn placed sixth (29-0.45).
Hayutin-Baril tied for fifth with Coal Ridge with a high jump of 4-8, and Sadie Lee finished eighth in high jump with a jump of 4-6.
Junior Sabrina Leighton placed third in shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 5 inches.
Alexandra Eaton had a fifth place finish in the 300m hurdles with a time of 53.10, and McKenna Johnson placed fourth in the triple jump at 30-8, and was seventh in 300m hurdles (54.68).
Brooke Hillman placed eighth in the 400m dash (1:07.14).
In relays, Paonia placed second in the 4x100m (54.41), and fifth in the 4x200m relay. In the 4x800, Poppy Lightfoot, Lee, Randi Rapke and Hillman placed second with a time of 11:00.78.
On the boys' side, in throwing events, senior Marco Carrillo blew away his old personal shot put record of 36-9.5, placing third with a throw of 40 feet, one-half inch.
Senior Cyrus Malek-Madani placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 115-08 to earn four points for the Eagles.
Caden Meilner placed fifth in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.59, and placed seventh in the 1600m run with a sub-five minute time of 4:56.19.
