Paonia Holdings asks for land use change

Public comments on a proposed development northeast of Paonia were extended to May 5 after citizens complained that they were not given enough time to research the proposal.

Paonia Holdings, LLC, has applied to Delta County for approval of a land use change on commercial and light industrial property located at 41322 and 41402 Hwy. 133, and ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road. An on-site neighborhood meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at 41322 Hwy. 133. Because it is an MSHA site, hard hats, safety glasses and steel-toed shoes and a short training session are required. Only those in appropriate gear will be granted on-site parking.

The application will be reviewed by the Upper North Fork Area Planning Advisory Committee and Delta County Planning Commission at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Paonia Town Hall. On June 5 the Board of County Commissioners will hear the application.
