Hunter Norman, 20, of Paonia was killed in a rollover accident on Lands End Road near Whitewater. The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, Norman was driving a 2000 Ford SUV. No other vehicles or parties were involved. The SUV was headed west on Lands End Road, went off the left side, drove back onto the road, back off the road, and when attempting to get back onto the road a second time began to rotate (spin). The vehicle then began to roll, 1.5 times, during which Norman was ejected; he was not wearing a seat belt. Currently alcohol and speed are both considered possible factors.
