Pea Green residents Jim Koffer and Marlene Grippa have installed a "Little Free Library" at the Pea Green Community House.
Started in 2009 by Wisconsin resident Todd Bol, in memory of his mother, a teacher who loved to read, "Little Free Library" is now an international movement. People in 55 countries have installed more than 16,000 dollhouse-sized lending libraries, run on the premise of "take a book, leave a book."
All Pea Green residents are encouraged to stop by to browse the selections. Feel free to take a book that interests you, or drop off a book you would like to share. The bottom section stores children's books, the top is for adults.
The library is small, but the impact can be enormous. This will be a great way to connect with neighbors, get people excited about reading and improve the literacy of our youth. Check out the website, www.little
freelibrary.org to read more about the growing international movement Pea Green is now a part of.
A grand opening will be held Saturday, July 25, at 2 p.m.
