PEO Chapter GT celebrated Paonia High School scholarship recipients on Thursday, June 7, at Calvary Baptist Church in Delta. Kathy Kolman and Lynette Reed were the hostesses.

Tessa Gore was honored as a recipient of the PEO Colorado State Chapter Scholarship. Candidates for this $1,000 scholarship are chosen by their intention to pursue a non-traditional vocational study program. Gore will study at Larimer County Community College to become a radiology technician. During her high school years Gore was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America. She has been selected for fair royalty, from junior princess to queen.

According to Grace Burgevine, 2017-2018 scholarship chairman, Gore was one of three Paonia High School girls named for this state scholarship. Twins Kassidy and Randi Rapke will study nursing. Kassidy will attend Aims Community College, while Randi will attend Colorado Mesa University.

Entertainment for the event was vocalist Audrey Herren, Delta High School sophomore. Herren is interested in drama and sang in the stage production "The 25th annual Putman County Spelling Bee at DHS." She is a vocal student of Kathy Kolman. Kolman sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" to honor the scholarship recipients with Brad Kolman accompanying on the keyboard.

Guests included Audrey's mother Laura Herren and Tessa's mother Mary Gore. Cake decorated in Paonia High School colors black and red was the dessert.
