Recipient of the PEO Chapter GT/Delta local $1,000 scholarship is Amelia (Mimi) Lousignont. She received her certificate at the Delta High School 2019 scholarship breakfast on Wednesday, May 1. Lousignont will be attending Adams State University with a major in psychology.

The Chapter GT scholarship is rotated to schools in Delta County. Receiving the scholarship in 2018 was Randi Rapke from Paonia High School. Hotchkiss is scheduled for 2020 and Cedaredge for 2021.

Presenting the award from Chapter GT were PEO scholarship chairman Claudia King and PEO president Pauline Carr. Serving on the scholarship committee were Laurea Fortner-Welch (Cedaredge), Laurie Milford (Paonia), Gwen Hallenbeck (Hotchkiss) and Nancy Hunter (Delta).

PEO is an educational organization giving scholarships to deserving women at international, state and local level. At the state level Arias Jaspe from Delta High School was selected for a Colorado state scholarship. Jaspe will be attending Colorado University at Boulder majoring in engineering and business.

Lousignont, Arias and their mothers will be honored at a PEO tea at Cedaredge on June 6. Laurae Fortner-Welch and Chris Vance will host.
