The official season opening of Cedaredge's Pioneer Town kicked off Saturday, May 25, with a host of activities during annual Heritage Day, hosted by the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society. Attendees enjoyed a petting zoo, carriage rides, pioneer food samples and more.
Located on five acres, the history village is complete with museums, twenty-five historic buildings and a gift shop. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children and $6 for seniors, Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Upcoming events include the summer concert series and Night on the Town. Concerts are every Thursday and Sunday through August. Sunday shows start at 4 p.m., Thursday shows begin at 7 p.m. All admission is by donation. The location, Chapel of the Cross, now has air conditioning.
