According to the CDP log, for Nov. 9, in addition to generally routine calls for agency assists, information inquiries and other non-emergency contacts, officers of the Cedaredge Police Department responded to the following incidents during October: one assault; three suicide/attempted suicide; seven thefts; one shop lifting; two wanted persons; and issued three citations. There were a total 55 incident reports logged for duty work between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31.
In other police matters, Chief Dan Sanders advised trustees that the town is in need of a "pot possession ordinance." Also useful to the department would be an ordinance outlawing "urination in public." He referred to a specific incident that occurred at the police department vehicle parking area.
The chief also reported to the town board that his research on a local noise ordinance has revealed the issue to be extremely complex.
