Cedaredge resident Preston E. Lauderbach Jr. died Nov. 3, 2017, at his home. He was 57.
A memorial service was held Nov. 15 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Mr. Lauderbach was born Jan. 19, 1960, to Preston and Dolores Lauderbach Sr. in Akron, Ohio. He spent his childhood and attended school in Michigan, graduating from Cousino High School in 1978. He went on to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and apprenticed with Union Local 969. He earned a journeyman's license and later his master's degree through his affiliation with IBEW. He was affiliated with IBEW for 35 years.
On Aug. 13, 1983, he married Cheryl Roop in Hotchkiss.
Mr. Lauderbach enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, live music and making new friends.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cheryl Lauderbach of Cedaredge; mother, Dolores Lauder-bach of Grand Junction; daughter, Amanda Lauderbach of Grand Junction; sisters, Marion Berger of Grand Junction and Barbara Locke of New Hampshire; and two grandsons, Leon Carbonell of Grand Junction and Gabriel Lauderbach-Huerta of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Lauderbach Sr.; and his son, Brian Lauderbach.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
