Last week's paper had two letters that were long on finger pointing and short on compassion. I'm not as lucky to be so perfect as those authors apparently are; I do have my flaws. Although I'm not a perfect person I strive for perfection knowing I'll never achieve it.
In the meantime I'll work darn hard to show compassion for everyone, especially those grieving for lost loved ones. I believe in times of crisis it's better to hold out an open hand instead if a pointed finger. Respect life? Perhaps we can start by respecting each other.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
