Robert Max Campbell of Moffat died Nov. 9, 2017, after a long illness. He was 65.
He was born Sept. 19, 1952, to William Campbell and Shirley Harwood and graduated from Paonia High School in 1970. He lived in Moffat for 35 years.
Mr. Campbell enjoyed horses, the mountains, hunting and fishing. He worked in outfitting, packing, farming, maintenance and construction.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Campbell of Moffat; children, Dayna (Todd) Gomon of Montana and Randy (Gayle) Campbell of Saguache; grandchildren, Austin, Alexander and Jacob Gomon, Ethan Elpel and Jodi Campbell; sisters, Carol Campbell, Amy Pipes and Kerry McDaniel; stepfather, Dielon Harwood; and stepmother, Sharon Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place and services are planned for spring 2018.
On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
