Lifetime Delta County resident Robert Cole Perkins died in a car accident Sept. 14, 2017. He was 59.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He was born May 2, 1958, to Robert and Nona (Stillwagon) Perkins in Delta. He spent his childhood and attended school in Delta County, graduating from Cedaredge High School in 1976. He furthered his education at the Delta-Montrose Vo-Tech.
Mr. Perkins enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, baseball, football, golf, his job and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Stacy Perkins, Jennifer (Lennie Ecker) Perkins and Kenny (Alexis) Perkins; a sister, Judy (Bill) Myers; and a grandson, Aiden Ecker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dixie Keehny.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
