Roger Brian Dodd died Feb. 23, 2017. He was 84.
He was born in Delta Dec. 23, 1932, to Ethel and William Dodd. He attended schools in Delta, where he was involved in many activities including sports, music and student government. He graduated from Delta High School in 1951. He attended CU for one year. He graduated from Mesa Junior College in 1953.
He enlisted in the Army in 1954 and served in communications in Germany until 1956. Upon returning to Delta he joined his father in farming. He raised cattle, sugar beets and barley.
On Nov. 9, 1957, he married Wanda Franklin.
He was a Potato Growers board member, a Tri County Water board member for 34 years, and served 12 years on the Delta County Planning Commission. He received the "Coors Grower of the Year" award for two years. Mr. Dodd was a lifetime member of the Elks.
He enjoyed spending time with God, family, and friends, snowmobiling, golfing and following sports of all kinds. He never missed the kids' or grandkids' games.
Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife, Wanda; his four daughters; Ronda (Rex) Baker, Diane (Rocky) Baker, Crystal (Randy) Brew and Peggy Jo (James) Pauls; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, at the Delta Christian Church. Interment will follow at Delta City Cemetery.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
