Delta senior Ryan Cooper has signed a letter of intent to pursue his love of golf at Lamar Community College and seek a degree in business management.
Cooper has been in Delta's golf program for several years and was a member of last year's DHS golf team.
The choice of Lamar Community College as his destination for furthering an educational experience, and the chance to continue playing golf, is, according to Cooper, "a great environment for me, not just for golf, but to pursue my schooling in business and become a better person in today's society."
There were several influencing factors leading to Cooper's LCC choice. "My parents had influenced me the most because they want me to do something I love. They have pushed me to do, and to be, my best with getting a golf scholarship and putting me in a position where I could continue playing golf and get the schooling I wanted."
Cooper's parents are Anthony and Prudence Cooper.
On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
