The Paonia Chamber of Commerce and its business members are ready to roll out the welcome mat for locals and visitors alike during the annual Downtown Day of Cherry Days. On Monday, July 3 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., the downtown blocks of Paonia will be filled to overflowing with specials, sales, treats and live entertainment available at many businesses.
There will be no shortages of food and treats during Downtown Day. Cirque Cyclery & Remedy Cafe will offer samples of cold-pressed juices and smoothies made with local fruit. You can grab an ice cream bar or popsicle at Brilliant Smiles Dental Hygiene, cherry ice cream at Ollie's or a slice of cake at Western Colorado Realty. Stop by First State Bank of Colorado for free hot dogs, brats, popcorn and sno-cones, or swing by First Colorado National Bank, which is hosting the Paonia High School volleyball team and a fundraiser barbecue lunch. Dependable Lumber hosts its annual customer appreciation barbecue, and Revolution Brewing will be open for a special event and lunch as well.
Art and music will be highlighted downtown, too. A showing of three female Paonia painters will be at Second Story Studios while Ellen Stapenhorst and Sam Stech will perform live music at Poulos Park from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lehman Images will highlight a "free range local art" show. Just down the block, adjacent to First Colorado National Bank, Devon Meyers will provide live music.
Several businesses will also offer sidewalk sales, in-store specials, giveaways and door prizes, including Paonia Farm & Home Supply, Brilliant Smiles Dental Hygiene, Refinery, Indigo Autumn, Lizzy's Market, and Western Colorado Realty. The remaining items from the Pam and Joe Cocker collection will be for sale in front of the KVNF Community Radio and the High Country Shopper. Stop by and peruse the linens, kitchen items, coffee table books, skis, hiking poles, Wii and Wii games, patio furniture and Joe Cocker memorabilia.
Friends of the Paonia Library will host their annual book sale at the library. Shoppers will delight in browsing row after row of paperbacks and hardbacks, DVDs, audiobooks and children's books. Plus, enjoy free lemonade and cookies while you shop!
Downtown Day is dedicated to highlighting and showcasing local businesses and their services and products. Downtown Day is a great opportunity to learn about a new business or reconnect with a favorite shop!
