Paonia High School earned its first football victory under new head coach, Eric Neal on Sept. 13 against the visiting Monte Vista Pirates, 17-14, in overtime. The Eagles are 1-1 for the 2019 season.

Coming off a successful weekend as the West Grand Tournament champions, the Cedaredge High School Bruins were ready to have a home game. Hosting the league rival, Olathe High School Pirates, for homecoming was just this ticket.



Getting started with a busy week, the Cedaredge High School Bruins softball team hosted the Meeker High School Cowboys in a twin bill on Sept. 10. Considered the homecoming games for Cedaredge, the red-hot Bruins won both contests.

The DCI’s Game of the Week kicked off the 2019 football season featuring Delta’s Panthers against the visiting Thornton Trojans. The two teams are not strangers to each other having played in Thornton a year ago.

Paonia wrestler Grey Neal won the 170-pound division and Zeb Etter was runner up at 152 pounds at the Western State Technique and Competition Camp All-Star duals at Western Colorado University in Gunnison.
