It pays to play on your hometown golf course, and Montezuma Cortez’s Thayer Plewe made that point evident after winning individual medalist honors at Conquistador Golf Club in Cortez on Aug. 27. Montrose’s Jordan Jennings and Noah Richmond tied for third with Jake Legg finishing fifth. The Indian’s Liam Beshoar placed eighth.
Cedaredge’s top scorer for the tournament was Brysen Harris who tied for 11th place with four other golfers. The Bruins’ Trey Geyer finished in a four-way tie for 28th with Dylan Furubotten finishing in a two-way tie for 39th. Isaac Blair ended the day in a two-way tie for 43rd, and Kyler Parker finished 46th with two other players recording the same score.
The Bruins played Tiara Rado Golf Club (Grand Junction) on Tuesday, Sept. 1, and are in Gunnison on Sept. 9 (Wednesday) to play at Dos Rios.
