Cornerstone Home Lending was this year's top team with titles in both the Women's Slow Pitch league and tournament.

On July 18, play in the 2019 Women's Slow Pitch tournament produced the top three teams in contention for a tournament title; Cornerstone Home Lending, H & R Block and Overholt Sheds.

Number one Cornerstone Home Lending cruised through first and second round play with a 14-4 win over number four Overholt Sheds and number two H & R Block, 19-9, respectively.

H & R Block began its hunt for the title with a 12-6 decision over number three My Place before falling to Cornerstone, 19-9 in the semifinals.

Overholt eliminated My Place, 9-6, in losers' bracket quarterfinal action and was set to face H & R for the right to play in the finals against Cornerstone July 25.

The July 25 contest between H & R Block and Overholt Shed was close with H & R controlling the game in the late innings for a 15-11 win.

In the title game, H & R had momentum in its corner and owned a 5-3 lead in the fourth inning. Cornerstone rallied to tie the score at 5-all in the fifth.

The game was tied at 6-6 going to the bottom of the seventh with Cornerstone coming to bat.

A deep fly ball to left center field by Chelsea St. Peter moved a runner to third base with Charity Lockhart coming to the plate. After waiting for a full count, Lockhart delivered a single to score the run from third and make Cornerstone the 2019 Women's Slow Pitch tournament champions.

Following a short break, this year's Bill Heddles Recreation Center Fall League will begin play in the month of August.
