Delta High School’s girls team reached the Great 8 before being eliminated from the 2020 state tournament in Denver. This year’s team landed two players on the Class 3A all-state honorable mention team with senior Sara Geddes playing her final games for the Panthers earning one spot. Geddes played in 19 games in 2020 and averaged 22.8 minutes per game with 11.7 points a game, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists a game and 3.2 rebounds. Geddes was a four-year varsity player with 85 games, a 10.2 scoring average, a 3.6 rebounding average and 1.6 steals per game. Junior Keely Porter was the second player on the honorable mention team. Porter played in 24 games this season, averaging 22.1 minutes a game, boasted a 12.8 points a game, 4.4 rebounds per game and had 2 steals a game. Porter’s two year totals include 49 games with 18.4 minutes a game, 10.9 points a game average, 4.7 rebounds a game and 2 steals a game.

Cedaredge High School played in Class 3A and had one player, Kammie Henderson listed on this year’s all-state honorable mention team. Henderson played in 24 games with 14 points a game, an 8.4 rebound average and 3.5 steals per game. Henderson has 66 games in her three years on the varsity team with a 9.6 scoring average, 6.6 rebounds a game and an average of 2.3 steals a game.

In Class 2A, Hotchkiss senior Elsie Vazquez was selected to the all-state honorable mention team. Vazquez played in 24 games this season with a 9.8 scoring average, 4.4 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists and 3.5 steals each time out. In four years, Vazquez played in 79 games with a scoring average of 8.2, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.8 steals.

Delta’s scrappy senior, Hunter Hughes, was the Panthers’ lone selection to the 3A all-state honorable mention team for 2020. Hughes played in 20 games this season with a 10.4 scoring average, 6.3 rebounds a game, 2.4 assists and 5.7 steals a game. In his two years as a varsity player, Hughes played in 42 games, had a 7.8 scoring average, pulled down 4.2 rebounds a game, had 1.6 assists and averaged 4.1 steals per game.

The Class 2A Hotchkiss Bulldogs added senior Jacob Palecki to the 2020 all-state honorable mention team. Palecki’s 2020 season included 15 games played, and an 11.1 scoring average.
