Delta High School’s softball team exited the 2019 hunt for a team title with a 13-3 loss to Ft. Lupton High School in Region 3 play hosted by Brush. Information from the game was not available before press time. It is known that the Panthers held an early 3-0 lead on a home run by junior Keely Porter. Ft. Lupton took a lead in its half of the same inning and never looked back. The Bluedevil’s defense closed the door on Delta’s offense from that point on to record the 13-3 decision and eliminate the Panthers from postseason play.
One bright spot was senior Amanda Cotten’s 2-3 day at the plate with a single, double and a walk and a run scored.
Delta finished the season with a league record of 6-6 and was 8-15 overall.
