Delta County's swim team competed at Montrose last Friday and Saturday. There were 10 teams at the competition and Delta finished eighth with 71 points. Glenwood Springs won the team title with 525 points.
The Panthers did not have a competitor in the one-meter diving event with Kenley Kohls of Fruita Monument winning the event with 318.9 points.
In the 50 freestyle race Aspen's Davy Brown had a 25.32 to finish first. Delta swimmers Hannah Sterns (31.16), Kiarrah Schotten (32.05), Adair Ela (33.98), Karlie Egging (34.66), Autumn Eddy (37.35) and Bailey Miller (39.80) also competed in the event.
Grand Junction won the 100 freestyle race with a time of 55.97. Delta's competitors included Sterns (1.11.61), Emma Purvis (1:17.05), Sydni West (1:17.10), Nadia Hill (1:21.24), Adair Ela (1:30.73) and Autumn Eddy (1:34.54).
Delta did not have a swimmer in the 100 fly event.
Aspen's Brown won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:01.08. Delta's entrants in the event included Hailie Ruble (1:23.14), Schotten (1:30.08) and Egging (1:32.59).
Grand Junction won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.27) with Abby Williams posting Delta's top time (1:25.55) followed by Alaiha Hoffbauer (1:42.82) and Madalyn Sandridge (1:55.62).
In the 200 freestyle, Grand Junction had the best time (2:01.19). West's 2:55.42 was Delta's top time followed by Hill (2:58.54) and Hannah Philman (3:00.98).
The Panthers did not have a swimmer in the 200 individual medley event.
Delta's Kalinn Komives competed in the 500 freestyle (8:15.03) with Grand Junction's Delaney Kidd posting the winning time (5:29.61).
Aspen won the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.81) and Delta had three teams in the competition. The top team posted a time of 2:14.01 followed by times of 2:26.79 and 2:45.48.
The Skiers also won the 200 medley relay (1:54.34) with Delta's two teams posting times of 2:26.47 and 2:50.15.
Glenwood Springs won the 400 freestyle relay (3:59.42) and Delta's team had a time of 5:07.20 in a preliminary round and a time of 5:09.14 in the final round.
