Delta High School senior Alexa Huff, daughter of Kirk and Arienna Huff, signed a letter of intent to attend Western Colorado University (Gunnison) on Nov. 11. Huff’s proposed degrees will be a bachelor’s in elementary education with a Master in Education. While attending WCU, Huff will participate in the Mountaineer’s women’s basketball program.

Huff was asked her reasons for selecting WCU and responded with, “I selected Western because it has a fantastic teaching and basketball program. Western will help me excel in furthering my education and basketball career at the next level.”

Who influenced Huff the most in making her choice of schools included her family and coaches. “My family and high school coaches influenced my choice the most in choosing to commit to Western. Without them holding me to a high expectation throughout high school, in both basketball and my grades. I would have never gotten where I am today. I believe becoming a Mountaineer at Western Colorado University is the best choice I could’ve made.”
