Delta High School senior Keely Porter was named to the Class 3A Second Team for her outstanding 2020 season for the Panthers. Porter was the team’s primary catcher and, on occasion, pitched. She led the 3A Western Slope League in home runs with 8 in the regular season and finished with 10 after playing in the 2020 state playoffs. That number (10) ranks her fourth in all classifications and first in Class 3A. Porter was ranked first in slugging percentage in 3A WSL (1.183), third in 3A and 15th in all classifications; first in RBIs (33) in the WSL, seventh in Class 3A and 15th in all classifications and first in runs scored (40) in WSL, second in Class 3A and in all classifications.
The Panthers’ Keslie Sandoval was an Honorable Mention selection for state in 2020 with a .510 slugging percentage (29th) and 13 RBIs (25th) in 3A WSL rankings.
Cedaredge High School landed two talented athletes on the Honorable Mention list for All-State recognition. Jamie and McKayla Meyer were key players in the Cedaredge line up all season long. Jamie caught for the Bruins and finished the year ranked first in 3A WSL in batting average (.600) which was 13th in Class 3A; second in WSL home runs with three, which was 11th in Class 3A; second in slugging percentage in WSL (1.000), which was 12th in Class 3A; 13th in RBIs in WSL (19) which was 48th in Class 3A; 30th in runs scored (14) in WSL play; third in on base percentage (.639) in WSL play, which was 30th in Class 3A; 23rd in stolen bases in WSL play and second in catching in WSL play, which was third in Class 3A.
McKayla Meyer paced Cedaredge’s pitching staff with 65 strikeouts in 41.2 innings of work, which ranked her first in that category in the WSL and 14th in Class 3A.
